Unknown Title, no date Ceramic 9 ½ x 4 ¼ x 3 ¼ '' Found above a kiln in the back of the ceramic studio, this work is unique as its twin was part of a permanent collection cared for indoors inside the studio. The image of the garden gnome could represent the “picket-fence ideal”: green lawns, thriving gardens, birdhouses, and windchimes. However, the warped pushed-in face shows the whimsical gnome was intentionally manipulated. Upon its return, the friendly face will oversee many soda firings for years to come.
